Pakistan’s poultry and processed food company Big Bird Foods has announced a strategic agreement with China’s e-commerce and technology company Alibaba Group.
In a recent statement, Big Bird Foods formally informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange and the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan about this strategic move.
Direct export access
This landmark partnership gives Big Bird Foods direct export access to Alibaba’s extensive global B2B e-commerce platforms, including Alibaba.com, allowing the company to showcase and sell its products to verified buyers across more than 190 countries and regions.
The collaboration represents a significant step forward in Big Bird Foods’ international expansion strategy, unlocking opportunities in the global poultry meat market, which is valued at over USD 350 billion annually.
This market is witnessing steady growth driven by increasing demand for affordable protein sources in both developed and emerging economies.
Terms of agreement
Under the terms of the agreement, Big Bird Foods will gain access to Alibaba’s vast B2B buyer networks and global sourcing tools, enabling the company to participate in Alibaba’s online trade fairs and promotional events.
The partnership will enhance the Pakistani company’s supply chain and logistics capabilities for cross-border trade while providing valuable market intelligence, trend analytics, and business development support.
