Escrito por: aviNews Asia

Thailand’s agri-food giant Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF) has expressed their plans to establish a food processing facility and distribution network in the Philippines within the next three years to the Philippine government.

According to the statement of Francisco Tiu Laurel, Secretary of the Philippines’ Department of Agriculture (DA), the announcement was disclosed by CPF officials during a visit of CPF’s Nong Chok factory as part of the activities of a delegation of DA officials to Thailand recently.

Before this announcement, in February 2025, the Thai group signed a partnership with the Maharlika Investment Corp to establish a private equity fund and raise up to USD 1 billion to accelerate investments in agriculture and food production, digital innovation, and sustainable energy in the Philippines.

The DA’s statement did not provide details of CPF’s plans in the country but the group is known engaged in the processing of poultry and pig meat products.
