The Batangas Egg Producers Multipurpose Cooperative (Bepco) in the Philippines has launched Go-Egg, a new line of ready-to-eat eggs, in a nationwide rollout on June 25.
Go-Egg is a peeled boiled egg preserved in a brine solution. According to Judit Alday-Mangmang, Food Business Consultant at Bepco, the product offers a convenient, all-natural source of protein that is shelf-stable. Go-Egg requires no refrigeration, and has a shelf life of up to six months.
From emergency food to everyday convenience
Originally developed by the Department of Science and Technology-Industrial Technology Development Institute as an emergency food, Go-Egg has been adapted by Bepco for broader commercial use.
Go-Egg is a convenient and healthy snack for workers on the go, school children, and campers and travelers. It is currently available in sea salt flavor, but Bepco plans to develop and introduce other flavors soon.
Expanding access through strategic partnerships
Bepco aims to collaborate with government agencies and private organizations to distribute Go-Egg through school feeding programs, disaster and relief operations, and other outreach programs. These initiatives can help improve food security and expand access to essential nutrients, especially for vulnerable populations like children.
The product was officially launched during the Eggvolution 2025 program at Livestock Philippines 2025. In partnership with the US Soybean Export Council, Bepco has also been spearheading educational and promotional campaigns to encourage greater egg consumption in the Philippines.
With its launch, Bepco is hopeful that Go-Egg will bring a new standard for accessible nutrition across the country.
