Global chicken production is expected to increase by 2% in 2023 reaching 102.7 million tons. All poultry producers, except for china, will get earn, but Brazil is the country with the most significant prediction to grow.
According to a recent report from the U.S Department of Agriculture, the increase in the price of feed and energy have decreased profitability worldwide. However, there is a strong demand, and it is expected to raise chicken meat consumption since consumers are looking for animal protein at a low cost.
What would be the chicken production by countries?
- Brazil: This country is considered the largest producer of chicken, surpassing China in 2022. It could be due to the higher internal and external demand for the product.
- China: Chicken production in China will stagnate since the growth in white feathers production will offset a decline in yellow feather production. Therefore, the white feather broiler meat could be higher next year because Chinese consumers want a more diverse protein,
- Thailand: The production will increase by 3% despite the slow recovery in internal consumption and the high production costs due to the lack of cereal supply and one-day-old chicks.
- Russia & Mexico: These countries will increase their earnings as internal demand increases.
- European Union: Chicken production “is forecast only marginally higher due to rising energy costs on the heels of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) outbreaks.”
- United States: The production in the U.S. could increase by around 2%, which represents 21.2 Million tons in the next year. This beneficial effect is the result of the reduction in feed prices and the strong demand for poultry.
