MJBJ Corporation, one of the biggest players in the Philippine poultry market, has selected Royal Pas Reform‘s SmartPro integrated solution for its new single-stage hatchery in Lucban, Quezon province. The facility is scheduled to open in January 2026 and will produce 1 million day-old chicks weekly.
This site is MJBJ’s second hatchery, expanding its footprint beyond its original site in Isabela province. Lucban was chosen for its ideal climate, strong infrastructure, and biosecurity advantages.
Advanced incubation and automation
The hatchery will feature 24 SmartSetPro 6 setters and 24 SmartHatchPro hatchers. The new hatchery will incorporate:
- Adaptive Metabolic Feedback (AMF) to fine-tune incubation environments to the needs of growing embryos.
- Energy Saving Modules (ESM) to reduce energy use.
- SmartWatch to control humidity and CO₂ levels in hatchers for optimal hatch timing.
Automation will support egg handling, candling, transfer, and washing. Climate control systems will include humidifiers, air handling units, water chillers, and a fumigation set.
Royal Pas Reform’s HVAC system will provide bacterial and fungal filtration, manage pressure and filtration across production rooms, and optimize hygiene in the flow of eggs and chicks throughout the facility. Microban hatcher baskets will help prevent contamination.
Smart systems for precision and performance
SmartCenterPro software will oversee hatchery operations, enabling batch-specific tracking and full incubation cycle reports. SmartView will serve as the central control panel for all incubators.
The system’s database will store alarm and climate history, supporting diagnostics and troubleshooting. These tools will help ensure consistent performance and data-driven decision-making.
Pas Reform Academy will provide training and ongoing support to tailor incubation programs for peak results. MJBJ will benefit from expert guidance and continuous monitoring.
Strategic collaboration and shared goals
MJBJ President Miguelito Bayaborda emphasized the importance of quality and after-sales service in choosing Royal Pas Reform. CFO Jenina Bayaborda echoed the value of careful supplier evaluation.
Bas Kanters, Pas Reform Sales Director Asia, noted the close collaboration with MJBJ throughout planning, commissioning and training.
Rosemarie Astorga, President of Pas Reform Philippine distributor Filtration Solutions Inc, described the project as a landmark for hatchery innovation and efficiency.
