The Philippine poultry industry posted significant gains in production volume during 2025, reinforcing its role as a key driver of agricultural output.
Data from the Philippine Statistics Authority show that seasonally adjusted chicken production inQ4 2025 reached 585.26 thousand tons, liveweight. This was a 0.5% increase from the previous quarter’s 582.33 thousand tons. Chicken egg production also rose, with seasonally adjusted output reaching 220.63 thousand tons, up 4% from Q3.
Expanding supply in late 2025
Poultry production in Q4 2025 totaled 858.36 thousand tons, reflecting an 8.9% increase compared with 788.17 thousand tons in the same period of 2024. Chicken accounted for 71.5% of this total, growing by 9.4% year-on-year.
Key quarterly highlights:
- Chicken production: 613.56 thousand tons, up 9.4% year-on-year
- Chicken egg production: 225.73 thousand tons, up 8.9% year-on-year
- Duck production: 7.25 thousand tons, up 1.4% year-on-year
- Duck egg production: 11.82 thousand tons, down 9.6% year-on-year

These figures show that poultry producers were able to expand supply despite challenges in other agricultural subsectors. Chicken and eggs remained the most significant contributors, while duck and duck eggs played a smaller role.
Strong annual gains
For the full year 2025, poultry production reached 3.21 million tons, a 9.1% increase from 2.94 million tons in 2024. Chicken remained the dominant contributor, with 2.28 million tons produced, representing a 9.8% annual increase.
Chicken eggs also showed strong growth, with annual production rising to 847.78 thousand tons, an 8.3% increase from 2024. Duck and duck egg production remained relatively small, with duck output slightly higher and duck eggs declining.

Poultry’s role in agriculture
Poultry’s growth offset declines in livestock and fisheries, underscoring its importance to the agricultural sector. The industry’s expansion was driven by strong consumer demand and stable supply chains.
- Chicken share of poultry output: 71.2%
- Chicken egg share of poultry output: 26.4%
The data confirms poultry’s resilience and its growing role in ensuring food supply stability. Continued demand for chicken and eggs will likely sustain the industry’s momentum in the coming year.
