Indonesia’s poultry company Super Unggas Jaya, a subsidiary of South Korea’s CJ Group, recently exported 8.2 tons of frozen dressed chickens, with a value of USD 18,460, to Timor Leste.
The dressed chickens were shipped from the company’s chicken processing plant in Kuningan, West Java.
“This is our second shipment to Timor Leste. The first shipment was in 2024,” said Director Joo Yong Bum.
The company targets to export a total of 50 tons of frozen dressed chicken, with a total value of USD 114,000, to Timor Leste in the second half of this year.
Appreciation from the Ministry of Agriculture
Agung Suganda, Director General of Livestock and Animal Health at the Ministry of Agriculture, expressed his appreciation for Super Unggas Jaya’s success in opening the export market for Indonesia’s poultry products.
“The export shows that poultry products from Indonesia can compete in the global market and are preferred by foreign consumers. So, we continue to encourage poultry producers to expand their market to foreign countries,” Mr Suganda said.
