Uniformity of broiler breeders

Uniformidade das Reprodutoras

When looking at chick quality standards, we look for uniformity as one of the main indicators of good practice. This uniformity and quality directly reflects the initial performance results of broilers.

The main objective of a broiler breeder operation is the production of quality broiler chicks in the volume necessary to meet the agricultural promotion.

We understand broiler chick production as the service of at least the number of chicks per broiler breeder contemplated in the Cobb 500 standards. Likewise, when we observe chick quality standards, we seek uniformity as one of the main indicators of good practices. This uniformity and quality directly reflect on the results of the initial performance of broilers, body weight at 7 days, resulting in higher performance.

Good uniformity results in production are a consequence of technical work being done very well during the rearing. And for that, knowledge and technical skills are not enough. The ability to map critical activities to be carried out, plan, organize and monitor these activities are vital. Without it, the execution will be compromised.

The ability to generate the correct indicators to measure the results of the tasks performed and manage them is essential to correct the deviations that always occur.

Among numerous indicators, managing the standard bodyweight curve during rearing is one of the most critical tasks during this phase. Following up with the expected weight gains each week is critical.
We need to have a good quality of formulation and ingredients to achieve predictability in the stimuli performed with the standard GAD (grams ave per day). Additionally, the quality of weighing equipment, and feed distribution, which is also another important aspect for good body weight control, as well as the choice of the best fee restriction program.

If this is a limiting factor, consider using complementary buckets to improve feed distribution in big poultry houses.

In the case of plate feeders, weighing systems that make it possible to know and manage the volume of feed distributed by a circuit is essential for weight control and uniformity.
