Yuxiang Poultry Company is a good example of how a poultry company turns fresh eggs into different egg-based foods. This Chinese company is bringing local food innovations into the global market.
A modern layer farm
Yuxiang’s modern layer farm in Jingzhou City in Hubei Province is attracting attention for maintaining a production of approximately 450,000 eggs per day from a flock of up to 500,000 birds.
Inside the farm, the entire laying hen area is operated almost entirely automatically. The farming space is extremely clean and tidy. Staff mainly perform routine inspections.
The intelligent automatic feeding system distributes feed with high accuracy, while temperature and humidity indicators are continuously updated on a central monitoring screen to ensure the flock maintains stable productivity.
Integrated smart processing
Beyond just egg production, Yuxiang has built a complete, integrated smart processing chain with a total investment of approximately USD 7.4 million. After collection, fresh eggs travel through a closed conveyor system to the processing plant. There, sorting and cleaning lines operate continuously, handling up to 30,000 eggs per hour.
Thanks to technologies such as pasteurization and low-temperature processing, many product lines are produced without the need for additives. Current processing capacity reaches approximately 250,000 egg products per day, including salted eggs, century eggs, soft-boiled eggs, and various flavored eggs.
Special emphasis on technological innovation
As a leading enterprise in the Jingzhou egg industry, Yuxiang places special emphasis on technological innovation. The company currently holds 26 national patents, most notably its lead-free preserved egg production formula, which it developed in-house.
According to the company, instead of using lead-containing compounds like traditional methods, they use zinc salts, copper salts combined with natural ingredients such as tea and plant ash to create beautiful ‘pine flower’ crystals inside the eggs, while eliminating the risk of heavy metal residue.
A representative from Yuxiang’s technical department stated that the company is collaborating closely with the Central China Agricultural University and the Hubei Academy of Agricultural Sciences to improve product quality through scientific research.
Export markets
Thanks to maintaining consistent quality, the company’s egg products have been exported to many markets such as the US, Australia, and New Zealand. For many consecutive years, the company’s exports of fresh eggs and preserved eggs have been among the leading producers in China.
Prior to the 2026 Lunar New Year, through the Canton Fair, Yuxiang continued to expand into new markets such as United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Canada, signing more contracts worth approximately USD 738,000 in total, while also recording potential orders exceeding USD 1.5 million.
The company expects its export revenue for the whole year to surpass USD 30 million.
Collaboration between the business and the local government
In the packing area, boxes bearing the words ‘Jingzhou Yuxiang’ are neatly arranged by robotic arms before being loaded onto refrigerated trucks for shipment to various destinations around the world. From a factory in Jingzhou, these eggs are gradually appearing on international shelves.
Behind this professional production operation lies the collaboration between the business and the local government. Company representatives stated that the government provided significant support in terms of labor, logistics, raw material supply, and transportation, helping the factory maintain stable production during the peak festival season.
Inside the production facility, the production lines operate smoothly, with workers performing their specialized tasks. From a small-scale production facility to a leading enterprise, Yuxiang is becoming a prime example of agricultural industrialization in Jingzhou.
