CP Vietnam, part of Thailand’s Charoen Pokphand (CP) Group, on December 16 announced the export of its first batch of processed chicken to Singapore at Becamex Binh Phuoc Industrial Park in southern Dong Nai province.
The milestone highlighted Vietnam’s growing presence in the regional processed poultry supply chain and demonstrated CP Vietnam’s ability to meet the strict standards of premium markets.
The CPV Food Binh Phuoc plant operates a closed-loop system and holds international certifications, including HACCP, BRC, ISO 22000, and Halal.
“This milestone is the achievement attained after the initial assessment and inspections by the Singapore Food Authority at CPV Food Binh Phuoc,” said Pang Te Cheng, Consul General of Singapore.
Previously, in March 2025, Singapore officially approved the export of heat-treated poultry products, as well as canned poultry eggs and meat (excluding beef) that have been pasteurized at high temperatures and pressures.
This approval is considered a significant step forward for Vietnam’s livestock and export industry and is expected to open opportunities for many other Vietnamese businesses to access the Singaporean market, which has very strict import management and standards.
This milestone is also significant for Singapore, contributing to enhanced food safety and security, especially given that the island nation currently imports approximately 90% of its food consumption.
Singapore values its cooperative relationship with Vietnam and wishes to continue working alongside Vietnamese producers in providing safe, high-quality food to consumers, said Mr Cheng.
Consistent operational discipline is key
Wirat Wongpornpakdee, Senior Vice President for Food Industry and New Business Development at CP Vietnam, stressed that meeting the requirements of high-end markets requires consistent operational discipline. He hopes that the acceptance of the company’s processed chicken in Singapore will enhance Vietnam’s reputation in the high-quality food supply chain.
CP Vietnam also received three major awards at the FMCG Asia Awards 2025 and Manufacturing Asia Awards 2025, further affirming its regional recognition.
Before reaching Singapore, the company’s processed chicken was already exported to Japan, Hong Kong, Cambodia, and Laos, with Japan alone importing 10,000 tons by November this year.
The company plans to expand exports of processed chicken to UK and EU, supporting Vietnam’s long-term goal of bringing high-quality agricultural products to international markets.
At the ceremony, CPV Food Binh Phuoc awarded 242 scholarships worth nearly USD 38,000 to children of its employees, reflecting its commitment to staff welfare and investing in future generations.
Dong Nai as economic hub in southern Vietnam
Dong Nai is a key economic hub in southern Vietnam, supporting CP Vietnam’s growth with its strategic location and strong livestock sector. The province has approximately 3.84 million pigs and 36.2 million poultry, with farming increasingly shifting from small-scale to modern farm operations.
Nguyen Van Thang, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, praised the company’s efforts and emphasized that the province will continue to create favorable conditions for businesses, ensuring food safety, sustainability, and growth in the livestock sector
