Dr. Vincent, historically the egg production sector in Brazil is going through a delicate moment due to issues related to the high costs not only linked to grains, but also electricity, fuel, marketing of production surplus, environment, building materials and other inputs. Vincent Guyonnet – Although it has been difficult to visit egg producers around the world during the past 2 years, webinars and videoconferences have allow us to remain in contact with the latest development in the global egg sector. At the global level, egg consumption has incrased by 31 eggs (from 154 to 185 eggs per person poer year) between 2010 and 2020.

But this growth has across regions, with Latin American countries registering some fantastic growth (+119 eggs in Brazil, + 111 eggs in Colombia and + 66 eggs in Argentina) while consumption grew only by
