Betagro, a leading integrated food company in Thailand, hosted the ‘Betagro SD Day 2025’ under the theme ‘Smart Sustainability for Sustainable Growth’.

The event was aimed to reinforce the company’s commitment to driving and communicating progress on its five key sustainability priorities (Betagro ESG Materiality Topics) to employees, while building understanding and practical application of the Betagro Sustainability Way—a core framework for sustainable business operations grounded in three principles:

  • Purpose & belief
  • Integrity
  • Action with fact base

Wasit Taepaisitphongse, who leads the company’s International Business Group, emphasized that for Betagro, sustainability is not merely a concept but a long-held responsibility.

“For 58 years, we have stayed committed to real action that delivers better food for society,” he said.

Mr Wasit explained that the world is now facing unprecedented challenges—from global boiling and economic uncertainty to geopolitical conflicts and increasingly stringent sustainability regulations. These pressures make sustainability a critical factor for the survival and long-term growth of all organizations, positioning food sustainability as a core goal for Betagro.

Betagro’s sustainability strategy focuses on five priorities:

Betagro continues to lead the industry in food safety. The company was the first in Thailand to ban beta-agonists in 1995 and the first globally to be certified by NSF for S-Pure pork, chicken, and eggs raised without antibiotics (RWA).

Betagro also continues to advance research and management of antibiotic use (AMU) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR), raising Thailand’s food safety standards to international levels.

Net Zero Emissions by 2050

On the environmental front, Betagro has set a target to achieve Net Zero Emissions by 2050, supported by smart technologies that boost production efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and promote energy optimization.

The company is also strengthening collaboration with farmers, communities, and partners across the food value chain to ensure a secure and sustainable food system.

Betagro is further enhancing workplace biosafety through the use of advanced technologies, including Smart Detection—AI-enabled surveillance cameras that automatically alert when employees fail to wear safety equipment—helping reduce workplace risks.

The event also featured a special keynote by Attapong Satitmanotham, CEO of SCG Cleanergy on the topic ‘How Technology Drives the Development of Products and Services’.

Attendees were invited to explore the Betagro Saijai Showcase, an exhibition highlighting sustainability innovations from Betagro and SCG Cleanergy.

Betagro reaffirmed its commitment to advancing sustainability across all business units and its supply chain through the Betagro Sustainable Way, creating business opportunities while strengthening long-term competitiveness.

This aligns with the theme of Betagro SD Day 2025, reflecting the company’s mission to achieve sustainable growth alongside all sectors of society.
