In the first seven months of 2022, Latin American countries are the main destinations for Brazilian exports of poultry genetic material. Mexico and Peru stood out with a growth of 102.7% and 3.1%, respectively.

From January to July, exports of poultry genetic material from Brazil showed an increase of 14.4% in terms of income received and 0.4% in terms of volume, according to the latest report from the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein, ABPA.

INCOME RECEIVED FROM EXPORTS

Brazilian exports of poultry genetic material reached US$94.6 million between January and July, according to data collected by ABPA. The number exceeds by 14.4% the results achieved in the same period of 2021, with US$ 82.6 million.

Only in July, shipments of day-old chicks and hatching eggs reached US$14 million, a result 17.5% higher than the seventh month of 2021, with US$11.9 million.

EXPORTED VOLUME OF GENETIC MATERIAL

In terms of volume, international sales of genetic material increased by 0.4% in 2022, with 8,398 thousand tons in the first seven months of this year, against 8,365 thousand tons in 2021.

JULY EXPORTS

Considering only July 2022, there was a retraction of 20.2%, with 1,123 thousand tons in 2022, given that 1,408 thousand tons were exported in the same month of the previous year.

MAIN DESTINATIONS OF AVIAN GENETIC EXPORTS

Among the main destinations for genetic material exports, Mexico stands out, leading shipments in 2022 with US$16.5 million (+102.7%), followed by Peru with US$11.2 million (+3.1%) and Senegal, with US$10.5 million (-8.6%).

The president of ABPA, Ricardo Santin, reported "We are following a change in international sales of poultry genetics, with higher sales in the countries of the Americas. In this context, Brazil expanded its international participation in the poultry genetics sector, reinforcing its role as an export platform in the segment."
