Meet the speaker of incubaFORUM ASIA 2026: Prof dr Sjaak de Wit, Researcher at Royal GD and Professor Integral Poultry Health at Utrecht University.
Prof de Wit is globally recognized poultry veterinarian and scientist with extensive expertise in respiratory diseases, particularly infectious bronchitis (IB) and Newcastle disease (ND). He obtained his DVM and PhD from Utrecht University, with doctoral research focused on the diagnosis and transmission of IB virus.
Prof de Wit serves as a senior poultry health expert at Royal GD, leading serology quality systems, test development, and applied field research. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and actively supports disease control strategies at farm and hatchery levels. He is also a former President of the European College of Poultry Veterinary Science (ECPVS).
At incubaFORUM ASIA 2026, with the support of Elanco, Prof de Wit will deliver a presentation titled “Building sustainable poultry production in a high-pressure global industry: Scientific lessons from infectious bronchitis and Newcastle disease control” on Thursday, April 30.
