The National Service for Agrifood Health, Safety, and Quality (Senasica) restrict the entry of birds and poultry products produced or transiting through the state of Indiana, United States.
Due to the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza located in a turkey farm in the state of Indiana, which was confirmed by the health authority of the United States, the National Service for Agrifood Health, Safety and Quality (Senasica) as a precautionary measure determined to restrict the entry into Mexico of poultry products originating in or coming from the affected state.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development agency informed its Agricultural Health Inspection Offices, located at all points of entry into the country that the importation of any bird or poultry product produced originates from or in transit through the state of Indiana is prohibited.

The Senasica explained that these measures are taken based on the available information so far and have been published by the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service of the United States Department of Agriculture (APHIS-USDA)
