SAO PAULO, BRAZIL (November 21, 2023) – Intelligent nutrition company Novus International recently appointed a commercial director to oversee its business operations throughout Latin America.
Alessandro Lima was promoted to the new leadership role in October. The position is responsible for leading the commercial strategy across Latin America, particularly in the key markets of Brazil, Colombia and Mexico.
Lima joined NOVUS in 2021 as senior regional business manager for Brazil. Gonzalo Prat, senior director and managing director for the Americas, says Lima established himself as a change-maker during his short time with the company.
“He’s done an excellent job rebuilding our team in Brazil and making strong progress to achieve the goals and objectives leadership has created for the region,” he says. “He’s demonstrated a desire to lead and an understanding of the market that can help create wins for our team. With Alessandro as commercial director, the team gains speed, seniority, and experienced decision-making that I expect will mean positive improvements for our customers in Latin America.”
As the new commercial director, Lima’s goals for the region include strengthening collaboration between the sales and technical teams, ensuring customer understanding of the products and services available to them, and having the right talent with the necessary skill set to optimize customer experiences.
“Our largest investment in recent years has been in our people. The work that Technical Services Managers Debora Reolon, Ph.D., and Kelen Zavarize, Ph.D., are doing is a great example of how NOVUS is creating partnerships that are focused on feeding solutions instead of treating problems,” he says.
And, for him, customer intimacy is key to creating lasting partnerships in the animal agriculture industry.“Meeting with the customer in person is essential to understanding their business and their goals,” he says. “I want NOVUS to be the customer’s nutrition partner for everything from gut health and meat quality to feed cost savings and eggshell quality.”
In Latin America, NOVUS provides intelligent nutrition solutions to swine and poultry producers as well as feed mills and premixers. The company’s science-backed solutions focus on gut health and performance (particularly in antibiotic-reduced/free operations), reproductive and structural health (including optimizing progeny livability through maternal nutrition), and sustainable protein production.
