Taking into account that there have been no positive diagnoses of the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) and the environmental sampling carried out in the properties where the outbreaks were detected have been negative, the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA) lifted the sanitary quarantines in the departments of Chocó, Bolívar, and Magdalena.
The measure was communicated through resolutions 00287 of January 18, 00343, and 00355 of January 20, 2023, respectively.
“According to the results of the active and passive epidemiological surveillance implemented and the molecular laboratory analyses, there have been no new positive diagnoses of the disease in the departments of Chocó, Bolívar, and Magdalena,” indicated María del Pilar Ruíz Molina, manager General (In-charge) of the ICA.
Miss. Ruiz added that, additionally, the monitoring visits made to the area were satisfactory, and the environmental samplings in focal areas had negative results, which makes it possible to lift all the declared sanitary restrictions, along with the other complementary measures.
