Vietnam’s poultry market experienced significant fluctuations in supply-demand, pricing, and trade activities during the first six months of 2025, according to aggregated data from AgroMonitor.
A key highlight was the sharp growth of breeding chicken exports, while domestic broiler prices diverged noticeably between regions.
The colored chicken market overall maintained good prices due to limited supply.

Exports of colored chicken to Cambodia remained low (3,000 birds/day).
Mid-Autumn Festival demand and Cambodian orders pushed egg prices higher.
Exports of Isa Warren breeding chickens (egg-laying type) to Cambodia rose 2.2 times, averaging 32,000-33,000 birds/month.

Market prospects differ across segments. For white-feathered chicken, Northern prices are likely to stop declining partly due to supply being redirected to the South.
Meanwhile, the South will continue to benefit from unofficial exports to Cambodia, helping prices maintain short-term growth.
For colored chicken, the North should maintain stable prices thanks to limited supply and strong demand from restaurants during peak tourism season. In the South, while shortages keep prices high, weaker local consumption may limit further increases.
