MAASTRICHT, The Netherlands – Phibro Animal Health Corporation, a leading global diversified animal health and mineral nutrition company, announced the BA-King probiotic poultry launch, featuring Bacillus velezensis NITE BP-01844, a gut flora stabilizer for use in both in-feed and in-water applications, at the 2025 European Symposium on Poultry Nutrition (ESPN).
BA-King, part of the family of MicroLife ® direct fed microbial products, is proven to help modulate gut microflora, which can lead to improved intestinal health performance in poultry, helping producers protect their bottom line.

Study results presented by Dr. Vasil Stanev, Global Director Technical Services Poultry Nutrition and Health at Phibro during the 2025 European Symposium on Poultry Nutrition evaluated the effects of BA-King, simulating a non-specific enteritis challenge in broilers. Results of the study demonstrated a positive effect on performance as well as reduced mortality, intestinal inflammation scores and pathogen load in the intestinal tract, indicating that BA-King helps support intestinal health and performance in broilers.¹
Dr. Stanev noted that the key benefits of feeding BA-King for poultry farmers include:
• Increased body weight gain¹
• Improved feed conversion ratio¹
• Decreased mortality rate¹
BA-King can be used in a wide variety of poultry production areas, including all species for fattening, chickens reared for laying, turkeys reared for breeding, minor poultry species reared for laying or breeding and ornamental birds.
