Day 2 highlight: Karnataka Commissioner’s visit marks a milestone at Poultry India 2025

Day 2 of Poultry India 2025 delivered one of the event’s most meaningful moments with the visit of Smt. Shreeroopa, IAS, Commissioner, Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Government of Karnataka.

Her presence brought a powerful message of state-level support at a time when the poultry sector is evolving rapidly and navigating crucial legislative and sustainability demands.

She was warmly received by Uday Singh Bayas, President of IPEMA; Narendra Pasuparthy, founder & CEO of Nandu’s Foods; and leaders of the Karnataka Poultry Farmers & Breeders Association (KPFBA).

The gathering reflected a collective commitment to strengthening India’s poultry ecosystem through collaboration across government, industry, and farming communities.

Sharing real-world challenges

Throughout the day, the Commissioner met with poultry farmers from Karnataka and several other states—including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra.

They also highlighted the need for streamlined single-window approvals, uniform compliance guidelines, and increased clarity on sustainability-related regulations.

Producers emphasized the increasing strain caused by high feed costs, the growing push for technological upgrades, and expectations around animal welfare and waste management.

The Commissioner listened attentively, assuring farmer groups that the state aims to support responsible growth while simplifying procedures that currently hinder development.

Her openness and engagement were widely appreciated, especially by those who had traveled specifically to voice their concerns.

Innovations in poultry equipment

Her visit continued with a guided tour through Hall 4, one of the busiest and most influential halls of the exhibition, showcasing India’s leading poultry equipment and technology providers.

At the center of this walkthrough was Dhumal Industries, where Anil Dhumal, Managing Director, personally welcomed her.

At the Dhumal booth, she was shown some of India’s most widely adopted innovations in poultry equipment.

Anil Dhumal proudly highlighted the milestone achievement of over 1 million EzyPans sold across India, demonstrating the company’s nationwide impact in improving feeding efficiency, durability, and farmer profitability.

The Commissioner expressed admiration for the scale of the technology’s adoption and the industry’s commitment to modernization.
