Philippine fast-food giant Jollibee Foods Corporation has inaugurated its biggest commissary in Visayas and Mindanao, located in Danao City, Cebu province.
The facility opened on January 8, 2026, marking a major expansion of the company’s manufacturing and logistics operations.
Strengthening the multi-brand network
The Danao commissary is Jollibee’s first integrated, multi-brand facility int he Philippines. It will supply products and ingredients for:
Distribution will cover Cebu, Iloilo, Bacolod, Zamboanga, Cagayan de Oro, and Davao, with support extending to select Luzon areas.
The site is Jollibee’s fourth facility in Cebu and strengthens the company’s nationwide supply chain.
The investment comes amid accelerating regional growth driven by tourism, outsourcing hubs, agribusiness exports, and manufacturing.
Employment growth and green operations
The commissary is expected to generate close to 500 jobs initially, with more than 60 percent of employees coming from Danao City. At full capacity, employment is projected to reach 800.
Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Cristina Roque said the project represents stronger job security and growth for local industries. She added that such investments encourage further expansion in the Philippines while reinforcing the national supply chain.
From its first day of operations, the plant runs on 99% renewable electricity sourced from geothermal power. It also features solar panels, rainwater harvesting systems, energy-efficient equipment, and wastewater treatment facilities.
CEO Joseph Tanbuntiong said accelerating growth in Visayas and Mindanao is critical to Jollibee’s domestic business and global aspirations. He emphasized confidence in Cebu as a manufacturing hub and highlighted the company’s commitment to building a stronger, more sustainable future.
Company founder Tony Tan Caktiong echoed this sentiment, saying, “The opening of the Danao Commissary is both a reflection of our journey and a new beginning.”
