Napoleon eggs recipe
Preparation time: 35 minutes
Servings: 2 people
Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- 2 slices of bread
- 1 Italian red pepper
- 1 onion
- 200 grams of mozzarella cheese
- A garlic clove
- Salt
- Ground black pepper
- Extra virgin olive oil
Elaboration:
- Cut the bread into cubes and place them on a tray lined with baking paper. We sprinkle them with a little oil and toast them in the oven preheated to 180 °C for about 3-5 minutes, being careful not to burn them. If we want them to have more flavor, we can add garlic powder or onion powder before toasting them.
- In a frying pan with a little oil, sauté the julienned onion, the sliced garlic clove and the chopped pepper. We also add salt and a touch of black pepper to taste.
- We paint two clay pots with a little oil and add a first layer of pepper and onion as a base. We distribute with croutons and cover with cheese to gratin. Finally, we crack an egg in the center, on top of the cheese.
