San Miguel Foods grows in Q1 with strong poultry performance

San Miguel Foods posted an 8% revenue increase, with net income surging 83% in Q1 2025, driven by strong poultry performance and strategic investments.

San Miguel Foods, a division of the Philippines’ San Miguel Food and Beverage Inc (SMFB), recorded a strong first quarter in 2025, driven by heightened demand in the poultry segment and strategic operational efficiencies.

For January-March, the division posted revenues of USD 829.7 million, reflecting an 8% increase year-on-year. Poultry led this growth with high-teens expansion, supported by stable performance across its processed meats, dairy and coffee, and flour segments.

Improved efficiencies and a favorable product mix contributed to a 22% rise in gross profit, reaching USD 190 million. Operating income jumped 70% to USD 78.9 million, while net income surged 83% to USD 53.8 million, reflecting the company’s strong execution and strategic investments.

SMFB Chairman Ramon Ang highlighted the company’s commitment to addressing evolving consumer needs. “We continue to focus on strengthening our operations and expanding our production capacities, particularly in high-growth areas such as poultry. Our solid performance this quarter reflects the strength of our brands and the effectiveness of our strategies.”

Looking ahead, San Miguel Foods is committed to enhancing its poultry supply chain and distribution network to maintain product availability and reliability.

It has been aggressively expanding its poultry operations to meet growing demand and strengthen food security in the Philippines. In 2023, it inaugurated the Magnolia Poultry Farm, currently the largest poultry facility in the Philippines, in Hagonoy, Davao del Sur province. It is the first of 12 mega poultry farms the company plans to build nationwide to boost poultry production and supply of high-quality chicken.
