Singapore has officially approved Paraguay as a new source for egg imports, marking a significant step in bilateral agricultural trade.
The approval reflects growing confidence in Paraguay’s animal health standards and expands Singapore’s supply network for poultry and livestock products.
The authorization, overseen by the Risk Management & Surveillance Department of the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) includes:
The SFA accredited 17 establishments in Paraguay to export these products, including poultry exporters Pollpar SA and Corporacion Avicola SA (Corpasa).
A milestone for Paraguay
The National Service of Animal Quality and Health (Senacsa) oversaw the negotiations, which concluded with Singapore’s decision to allow Paraguayan products into its tightly regulated market.
Paraguay welcomed the opening of the Singapore market as a breakthrough for its poultry and agricultural exports. The Southeast Asian nation represents a USD 900 million market for Paraguay’s livestock and agrifood sectors.
“The inclusion of our eggs in the Singaporean market reinforces Paraguay’s credibility in the matter of animal health,” said Senacsa President José Martín Camperchioli. “This is the result of constant hard work that allows us to reach such demanding markets as Singapore, the US and Canada.”
“Paraguay’s strong position in animal health is a key factor that allows access to these highly regulated destinations,” he added.
His remarks highlighted the country’s commitment to international recognized standards and its growing presence in the global market.
The first egg shipments to Singapore were expected to depart by mid-June, according to a Paraguayan media report.
