Thailand has reached a pivotal moment in cage-free transformation. On March 9, 2026, Chaiyapornsaha Farm Co Ltd in Suphanburi Province announced its transition to 100% cage-free production by 2027. The commitment covers 1 million hens, making it one of Southeast Asia’s largest single-producer pledges.

This achievement represents the culmination of three years of systematic engagement by CATALYST Co Ltd. Its Good Life Framework Standard, combined with sustained relationship building, financial partnerships, and market pathways through ‘Happy Egg Connect’, has proven effective in guiding large-scale transitions.
Other producers have joined the movement: Koh-Taew Co Ltd committed to 45,000 hens over three years, while Thaweephant Phuket expanded by 12,500 hens this year. Together, these efforts bring Thailand’s 2026 cage-free commitments to more than 1 million hens, a dramatic leap from 2025 levels.

Pornchai Srisoontornthai, Vice President of CATALYST, emphasized that this momentum extends beyond individual farms. Thailand’s Department of Livestock Development has trained 98 farms across 15 provinces and issued official cage-free manuals based on the Good Life Framework. These initiatives demonstrate that large-scale producer transitions require integrated strategies addressing technical capacity, financial feasibility, and market access.
Science and commitment, grounded in practical business models, are essential for moving beyond niche certification toward systemic transformation. By combining evidence, commitment, and market innovation, Thailand is showing how cage-free systems can scale to regional impact.
“Together, we can accelerate the transition to cage-free systems across Asia. Let us all lead the way for a kinder world,” Mr Pornchai said.
For corporates, buyers, and food service companies interested in sourcing cage-free eggs, Happy Egg Connect bridges verified suppliers with committed buyers across Thailand and Southeast Asia. Interested parties may contact [email protected].
