Chickens and hens manure can be used as an alternative to urea, a fertilizer, which price is high due to the conflict. Every crisis brings opportunity, even the war in Ukraine. There are concerns about the consequences of that war on the supply of urea, a fertilizer that Colombia today buys from Russia and Belarus. With the conflict, this product increased price and has farmers looking for alternatives such as chicken manure and poultry manure.

"What we see is in some regions of the country, even some poultry farmers tell us that they do not have enough chicken manure, something that did not happen," Moreno added.
Colombia could produce about two million tons of chicken manure and poultry manure per year, products that have about 2% nitrogen.
The war also drives Colombian chicken to "fly" to new markets. The process could take a while, but the paperwork to obtain the sanitary approvals has already started.
