Vietnam’s animal feed industry is gaining momentum, with exports reaching USD 497 million in the first five months of 2025, up 23.1% year-on-year (yoy). China remained the largest importer, posting a sharp yoy increase in purchases.
According to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs, China remained the top destination for Vietnamese animal feed. From January to May 2025, exports to China reached nearly USD 224.42 million, surging 38.3% yoy. This accounted for 45.2% of the Vietnam’s total animal feed export turnover.
In May alone, shipments to China were valued at USD 47.59 million, down 21.2% from April, but still up 14.5% yoy.

From January to May 2025, Vietnam’s export turnover to China reached nearly USD 224.42 million, accounting for 45.2% of the industry’s total export value.
Although Vietnam’s animal feed exports dropped by 10.3% in May 2025 compared to April, totaling 108.9 million USD, they were still 17.9% higher than in May 2024.
Overall, Vietnam’s animal feed exports during the first five months of 2025 showed steady growth, driven largely by strong demand from Asian markets, particularly China. This trend indicates promising opportunities for further expansion in the coming months.
