India’s Avee Broilers to establish production facilities in Uzbekistan

The project is expected to allow the production of 4 million broiler PS for Uzbekistan and Central Asia.

Avee Broilers, India’s broiler genetics company, plans to set up broiler production facilities in Zomin, Bakhmal, and Gallaorol districts of the Jizzakh and Samarkand regions and in the Bulungur district of the Samarkand region, Uzbekistan.

Once the facilities are operational, it is expected that Uzbekistan will not only cease chicken meat imports but also begin exporting it.

The project, which is expected to allow the production of 4 million broiler PS for Uzbekistan and Central Asia, will cost around USD 43 million, with part of the investment being covered by Uzbekistan.

Currently, the region’s annual demand for poultry meat is 1.2 million tons, or 5.5 million birds. At the same time, Central Asia imports nearly 200,000 tons of meat from European countries.

In the first stage this year, a breeder farm and a hatchery will be established to start supplying PS. This will significantly reduce transportation costs for importing PS into the country.

Currently, transportation costs for PS imported from European countries amount to USD 2 per bird. Once the project is implemented, the cost will be 50 cents per bird.
